OCU Teams Up with Osaka Prefectural Government to Promote Activities with Drones

On Wednesday, 4 December, 2019, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka City University (OCU) and Department of Environment, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Osaka Prefectural Government held a ceremony where they signed an agreement for the promotion of activities involving the use of the drones”.
By combining “university knowledge” and the “power of local government”, the agreement will see an increase in drone activity in the fields of “agriculture” and “greenery” for the smartification of operations in each field.
【Examples of advancement and smartification】
- Development of automatic flights and aerial photography technology in mountainous areas where elevation differs.
- Advancement of on-sight inspection and audit with the use of the data by drones (such as 3D models and data from aerial photography mapping, etc.)
【Concrete cooperation】
- Implementation of drones into agriculture and greenery fields as well as joint research for further application and development , etc.
- Field demonstrations and technical advice
Osaka Spokesman Lieutenant Governor Mozuyan also joined to celebrate the conclusion of the agreement signing.
